Coronavirus Restrictions: Restrictions have been lifted, however our approach will be cautious and slow! We will continue to take names and phone numbers as people come into church for Mass, we should all continue to sanitise our hands and are encouraged to continue to wear face masks. Social distancing restrictions ease, BUT to maintain a distance from others will be to show due respect and concern; in such regard, please allow as much space as possible between yourself and other parishioners in church seating.
Holy Communion and changes: AT ST. PHILIPíS for the weekend Masses, Fr. Ian and one of the Deacons will go to the side aisles to give out Holy Communion. So, those from the benches in the middle of the church should make their way around to receive Holy Communion first and circle back to their place, stewards will be required to direct this movement. At ST JOHNíS Mass and the distribution of Holy Communion will be as it was prior to the pandemic, with those on the organ side of the church coming for Holy Communion and then those on the pulpit side, BUT space should be respectfully given; we should then all return to our places. Please continue leave by the sacristy door, so that we can maintain, for the present, a 'one way system'. In due time, when we are able to sing without masks, we will begin to do so. Many thanks for your forbearance and understanding.
Details of the weekend Masses can be found in the 'newsletter' section of the website. Mass continues to be 'livestreamed' at the times shown.

Welcome to the parishes website for the Catholic communities in Uckfield and Heronís Ghyll. We are part of the Diocese of Arundel & Brighton and our Bishop is Richard Moth who is the Fifth Bishop of the Diocese.
The parishes are made up of the thriving town of Uckfield and many of the smaller villages surrounding it. They comprise some of the most beautiful countryside in East Sussex. The church in Uckfield is dedicated to Our Lady Immaculate & St Philip Neri and is located next door to our parish primary school, St Philipís.
The historic church of St John the Evangelist is in a delightful setting, close to the Ashdown Forest and easily accessible off the main road from Uckfield to Crowborough.
Our parish communities are served by many lay people who are fully invoved in the life of the parishes.
Our Parish Priest is Fr Ian Vane, who lives in Uckfield and he is aided by our deacons, The Revíd David Tutt and The Revíd Ken Fowler.
Whether you are new to the area or just passing through, we know that you will find a warm welcome as we gather to celebrate our Catholic faith and serve the communities in which we live in the footsteps of our Lord Jesus Christ.
